Another Sleepless Night

It is currently 1:48 AM and I'm not tired at all. I'm actually really hungry so I just made food :] But anyways, only 2 more days until I'll be with Jordan. I'm SO excited! We might go to lagoon on Friday which I'm super psyched about. I haven't been there for two years and I'm so ready to go again:]

Dallin shattered his ankle over the weekend. It is broken in 5 spots and fractured in 7. He was cliff diving and slipped off the ledge. He fell 35 feet and hit his foot onto a rock. He is so lucky that he didn't hit his head or anything. If he did, we don't think he would have survived. However, he is handling it very well. If I was going through that, I would definitely be a baby about it. He is getting surgery on it tomorrow and we are all praying for him :] I know everything will go smoothly though:] The healing time before he can start walking again and physical therapy is 6 weeks. So during that time, we will be taking care of him and his dog and making sure he's okay.

That reminds me! Dallin's dog is such a sweetheart. After he broke his foot and his friends were carrying him up the mountain, Tug stayed by his side the entire time. He couldn't stop crying and whining until he was sure that Dallin was okay. Even now, he won't leave his side.

Anyways.. Summer is going pretty good so far. I've done a lot of fun things but the real fun is coming up :] I'm super excited and I'll be sure to let all of you know how it's going. :D

Yeah, you make me happy.

Highlights? :]

Girls Camp: Amazing. This was by far my best year. We did SO much. First off, the theme was courage so they had this "competition" called It Takes Courage. It wasn't required, but whatever you did gave you points. I made a promise to myself beforehand that I would do everything. I'm going to describe just a few things that we did.
  • The Mud Crawl - Imagine knee high sticky, smelly, grass and rock fill mud. Got it? Now imaging crawling through it. Well... It was more like a drag. We had to crawl underneath these ropes that were about a foot off the ground. The ropes were tied to a pole and if we pulled the pole out, we had to start over. I was COVERED head to toe in mud! It was super fun though:] As soon as I get pictures, I will post them.
  • Fear Factor - It wasn't as bad as it sounds. I'll leave it at that. Oh, and chocolate covered crickets, chicken and pig feet, clam juice, octopus tentacles, tarantulas, bearded dragons, worms and more.
  • The Pioneer Shabang - Me and 3 other girls had to pull a hand cart up a super steep hill. And we were racing to other teams. We won! However, it was extremely difficult. It started out pretty easy but about half way up the hill, it seemed to get heavier and harder with each step. Oh, and I forgot to mention that another girl was sitting in the hand cart. So that was a lot of added weight as well. Anyway, it paid off. I can't imagine how tired the pioneers were.
  • The Lake - They put tubes across the entire lake and we had to jump from tube to tube across the lake and back. If we fell in, we had to swim back and start over. That one was pretty fun:] The worst part about it was how cold the water was!

Those were probably the most interesting events of it. But other than that, we also did a ton of other fun things. We had a lot of amazing, and inspiring speakers that made me want to be better. They said so many things that just went straight to heart. We had a lady come and teach us self defense. Coolest thing ever! I really want to take her class :] Jessica's mother talked about Jessica's suicide and sang one of her favorite songs for the stake. She told us to "no matter what, NEVER give up your courage." Her mama is amazing and one of the strongest people I've ever met.
On Wednesday, we had a huge storm. We weren't allowed of our tents because of all the lighting. Winds got up to 60 mph and broke my tent poles. And it rained a ton. So once we got flooded out of our tent, we slept in one of the leaders trailers... which also flooded. But I guess it all just made me even more grateful that I have a bed. :] A dry one at that.

Hair: I want to change mine up a bit... Well a lot. I'm just sick of it looking the same every single day! Here is a picture that goes along the lines of what I'm thinking. Just the fohawk/mohawk part though. Ignore length, color, bangs, etc. I'm still deciding though:]

The Almighty Dingo

So, you're probably wondering.... "Ashley? Writing about dingo's?"
But I have a reason. 'Dingo' is my brother Dallin's nickname. I don't know why exactly, but ever since I can remember, that has been his name. He even has a dingo mascot costume :]

Anyway, Dallin is the best brother anyone could ever ask for. He makes me laugh when I need it, calms me down when I need it, and puts me back on track when I need it. I can talk to him about anything. He is the most understanding person I have ever known, and will probably ever meet. He is incredibly weird, and sometimes it makes me worry but it never fails to make me laugh. Despite all the teasing he used to do and all the
times he's made me cry, we've always been close.

We have some pretty crazy adventures too. Every time we hang out, it's impossible to get bored. Even if we are just sitting around playing video games, or listening to music I still have a blast.

Dallin is my "go-to" person. I literally go to him for everything. Advice, entertainment, or just to talk to. He's always been there for me and I know he always will be. He's the best brother in the whole wide world:]

I Watched the Proverbial Sunrise

Some days, I just feel like running. In fact, I'm about to go running. Not because I think I'm fat, or because society says I should get excercise in, but because sometimes I just feel the need to be free. To feel the wind flowing through my hair, and forget about EVERYTHING. All my stress, everything I have to do, the fact that my room is a mess. To escape from the weight of the world.

RANDOM THOUGHT

I heard these lyrics today and liked them.
"A second, a minute, an hour, a day goes by."

Anyway, I leave for girls camp on Monday. I am SO excited. However, it is going to be hard to leave my family and Brent. Especially because Brent just got back from a vacation so we haven't really seen each other lately :/ In fact, we aren't going to see each other hardly at all this month. Which makes me sad :[ Did you know I fall more in love with him with every second that goes by? You probably did. It's not like I haven't made it obvious :p

In other news, a week after Monday, I get to spend a week to two with my best friend in the whole wide world. (I've made that pretty obvious as well :D) I'm so excited. We are going to see Eclipse, probably eat lots of food and junk food that will make us feel fat, take lots of pictures, and most likely cause some trouble:] I can't wait.
*Hey Joe! How about that "Gunn Circle" sign? :D:D:D"
I think that is a good idea. And we did good last time, I know we could do BETTER this time. :]

I can't wait! I haven't seen her since.... Christmas Break I think. Wait no. She came for a few days in March I think. Or February. I don't know exactly. But the point is, is that it has been way to long!

Wanna do me a favor? Tell all your friends about my blog:] I would like people to see what I have to say to the world and since I deleted my myspace and facebook, this is the only way. Please and thank you :D

Oh. One more thing. How about that RedBull Garrett? :p Just kidddiiinnn:]

It's what the people want.

Ahem.

All around the world, it’s what the people want.
The people want to see some good, clean racing.
The people want as many airbags as they can get.
The people want to play.
But they want to play nice.
The people want to recycle everything.
The people want crazy, wild-eyes idea for tomorrow, and they want them yesterday.
The people want to race dirty, but keep it clean.
The people want to reach new heights.
The people want to feel comfortable together.
The people feel the need for power. Crazy turbo direct injection power.
The people want safety standards to be standard.
The people feel the need for speed. And the need to save the planet, fast.
The people want to bask in the moonlight.
The people want idea from way out in left field.
The end is just the beginning.

Can you hear me now?

You know how people sometimes think they are invisible? I don't mean like a super hero, I mean socially.
Well lately, that is how I feel. I'm not sure if it's because I have a small body, so I don't have much power to my voice, if they are too busy to listen, or if they hear me, and just don't care what I have to say. I may be small, but I know for a fact that what I have to say is important. I'm not looking for a global broadcast of what I have to say, just for me to say something once and not have to repeat it. Maybe if I start screaming right up in peoples faces they'll start listening to me. Yeah? If not, I'll just have to knock them around a bit ;p

Anyway, I've been really irritable lately. I'm not sure if it's the move, the fact that my time of the month is coming up, the heat, or that I just miss a lot of people. Whatever it is though, I'm really sick of it. I just was to be normal again. I know it's up to me, but it's just hard. Hopefully you know what I mean, other wise I just sound like a brat.

Summer is three weeks in but I still feel like I have school tomorrow. It's a nice relief to know that I don't. :D But as if you guys care, here's my schedule.
  • June 10th - Jordan is visiting for one night.
  • June 11th - Sleep over with Cait
  • June 12th - Jump on it with Cait
  • June 14th- 18th - Girls camp :]
  • June 25th - July 2nd - Wyoming with Jordan!!! :D
  • July 12th - Papa's birthday
  • July 19th - 21st- Trek
  • July 22-25th - Vacation
  • July 27th - Brents birthday
  • July 28th - Mine and Brents 6th month anniversary

There will of course be in between stuff and stuff that will pop up :] But so far that's what's on my calender. This summer should be a good one:]
