Highlights? :]
Girls Camp: Amazing. This was by far my best year. We did SO much. First off, the theme was courage so they had this "competition" called It Takes Courage. It wasn't required, but whatever you did gave you points. I made a promise to myself beforehand that I would do everything. I'm going to describe just a few things that we did.
- The Mud Crawl - Imagine knee high sticky, smelly, grass and rock fill mud. Got it? Now imaging crawling through it. Well... It was more like a drag. We had to crawl underneath these ropes that were about a foot off the ground. The ropes were tied to a pole and if we pulled the pole out, we had to start over. I was COVERED head to toe in mud! It was super fun though:] As soon as I get pictures, I will post them.
- Fear Factor - It wasn't as bad as it sounds. I'll leave it at that. Oh, and chocolate covered crickets, chicken and pig feet, clam juice, octopus tentacles, tarantulas, bearded dragons, worms and more.
- The Pioneer Shabang - Me and 3 other girls had to pull a hand cart up a super steep hill. And we were racing to other teams. We won! However, it was extremely difficult. It started out pretty easy but about half way up the hill, it seemed to get heavier and harder with each step. Oh, and I forgot to mention that another girl was sitting in the hand cart. So that was a lot of added weight as well. Anyway, it paid off. I can't imagine how tired the pioneers were.
- The Lake - They put tubes across the entire lake and we had to jump from tube to tube across the lake and back. If we fell in, we had to swim back and start over. That one was pretty fun:] The worst part about it was how cold the water was!
Those were probably the most interesting events of it. But other than that, we also did a ton of other fun things. We had a lot of amazing, and inspiring speakers that made me want to be better. They said so many things that just went straight to heart. We had a lady come and teach us self defense. Coolest thing ever! I really want to take her class :] Jessica's mother talked about Jessica's suicide and sang one of her favorite songs for the stake. She told us to "no matter what, NEVER give up your courage." Her mama is amazing and one of the strongest people I've ever met.
On Wednesday, we had a huge storm. We weren't allowed of our tents because of all the lighting. Winds got up to 60 mph and broke my tent poles. And it rained a ton. So once we got flooded out of our tent, we slept in one of the leaders trailers... which also flooded. But I guess it all just made me even more grateful that I have a bed. :] A dry one at that.
Hair: I want to change mine up a bit... Well a lot. I'm just sick of it looking the same every single day! Here is a picture that goes along the lines of what I'm thinking. Just the fohawk/mohawk part though. Ignore length, color, bangs, etc. I'm still deciding though:]
