How coconuts compare to donkeys.

So pretty much, I feel like I'm sitting home on a Friday night. BUT it's only Tuesday. I just have nothing to do. It's pretty sad that I turned to my blog for entertainment:p

Anyway. Today I went to summer seminary at the high school and one of the speakers told a really good story about his father when he was younger that I'd like to share with the world before I forget it. Okay here it goes.
-So "Billy" was sitting on the couch watching TV one day when he saw a commercial that really caught his interest. It was called "Adopt a Burrow." What you did, is you would send the money in and they would raise a donkey for you and send you an occasional photo. Now Billy had never had a pet before so he thought this was a great idea. So he went to his mom and told her all about the commercial. He explained what a great deal it was and how bad he really wanted it. His mom tried to explain that they don't send you an actual donkey, they just send a picture of one. Billy was devastated though. He REALLY wanted this donkey. Now Billy's father would always bring the kids treats home when he got back from work. Although he did not always have enough for every. Therefore, it was first come, first serve. To make Billy's day worse, he did not hear his dad walk in the door and when he noticed all the kids crowding him, he got even more sad. No donkey, no treats, it was the worst day ever. But then to his surprise, he heard his father say to all the kids, "Nope. This one is for Billy." So he ran up to his dad as fast as he could to see what treat had been saved for him. His dad then pulled out a coconut. Billy had no idea what a coconut was because he had never seen one before. His dad explained to him that to coconut was a donkey egg and if he took really good care of it, and kept it warm, safe, and dry, it would hatch into a donkey. Billy was SO excited. He took that donkey egg everywhere with him. By the time tomorrow came, Billy was getting a bit impatient with the egg and wanted it to hatch. So he went outside and "pretended" to drop it a couple times but the egg just wouldn't crack. So he lifted the egg as high as his arms could reach and threw the egg down with all of hit might. And... the egg split in two. The liquid started pouring out all over his driveway and that's when he realized... that he had killed his donkey. So he ran inside as fast as he could and hid the two pieces under his bed. He stayed in his room scared, and devastated all day. He didn't even run out to see his dad when he got home. When his mom finally called him out for dinner, Billy came out and didn't even look his father in the eye. He just scooped up his food and started shoving. That's when his father said, "So Billy. How's your donkey egg?" Billy started to panic and said, "Oh don't worry about it Dad. It's warm, it's safe, it's dry. I got this under control." His father replied, "Go get it. I want to see how it's doing."
"No dad really. Don't worry about it, I've got it under control I swear."
That's when his father said in a voice you couldn't argue with, "Billy, go get the egg." So Billy went into his room, and grabbed the two pieces. When he returned to the kitchen, he simply set the pieces down and began eating again.
His father interrupted and said, "So it hatched? Where's the donkey?"
Billy stood up and walked over to his dad. He put his hand on his shoulder and said, "Well dad. When donkey's first hatch, they are very small and very fast. This one was so fast, it just got away."

This story made me laugh and really got to me. Kids have got to be God's gift to the earth... Even though they are a pain sometimes ;P

2:26 a.m. and still awake. Go figure.

I spent this weekend with my sister at her house up in sugarhouse in Salt Lake. I'm going home tomorrow early in the morning so I should probably get some sleep... But I slept all day. And now I can't fall asleep. Oh well? Anyway, yesterday for the 24th, we went to Dane's, her husband, work and got a milkshake. After we finished, we walked around the gateway mall for a while. She showed me some of her favorite stores and we each took our turns saying what we liked and what we didn't like. After we were through window shopping, we hopped in the car and drove down to Liberty park to watch the fireworks. While sitting on the grass, an older foreign guy came up to us and sat down. He proceeded to explain that he was new to Utah and this was his first time here. He did not know anyone, where anything was, or anything about the state. He told us that he had moved from New Mexico and was very glad to have run into us and that we were a helping hand. We got to talking and after a good conversation, we got up to leave. When we got home, we ordered some pizza and watched Oceans 11. I had never seen it before and I thought it was a very good movie. There are a few movies where I don't think Brad Pitt did very well but I thought he did a great job in that one. Anyway, I should probably try to get some sleep.

Thanks for reading!:]

Everyone is doing it.

Pretty much everyone I know has, or has had a blog. So I figured I should get one too.

This last week I spent in Wyoming with my best friend Jordan. It's always great going up there. Not only do I get to see her, but it's an escape from my world here. We had lots of fun this time. We saw the new Harry Potter movie and Transformers. Both were great! We got our nails done and wrecked havoc in Wal-Mart:) Also, thanks to Sonic's strawberry limeades for keeping us hydrated! Finding a friend like Jordan is probably the most difficult thing to do. Especially in your teenage years and I really am blessed for finding Jordan. She is a true friend and I could never doubt that. Not even for a second. It's hard now that she lives in Wyoming. Going from living two houses away, to 3 hours away is a tough change, but we manage to make it work. Since our parents are nice enough to give us cell phones, we are able to talk every day and plan times to see each other.

If you happen to read this Jordan, if you don't already know, then I love you with alllllll my heart:] Your my best friend and you always always always will be. Thanks for everything you've ever done for me.
